Fitness Tip #1: Protein Shakes and Echinacea

Hey Natural Ladies,

I recently bought some wheybolic protein shake from GNC. I won't say the specific type just because every protein is made different and depending on your body and your diet, will determine which you should take. Consult with the GNC reps and a personal trainer on whats best for you. I have been working out 5-6 times per week with 40-50 minutes of cardio every work out.

Protein shakes are recommended after workouts because it helps reduce your recovery time and helps with muscle repair. Your body can absorb just about anything right after a workout, so this includes vitamins. Protein shakes are important just so that your workout actually has an affect and the desired affect.

It is recommended that you mix your shake with milk, over water. Following a tip I found on MoptopMaven's website, she recommended the Horizon Nonfat Milk. She uses it in place of protein shakes. I intend to use some of the milk and mix it with the shake but take a half dose of my shake so the powder lasts longer. Be sure to only drink the shake AFTER a workout, directly after!

Now on to Echinacea. This herb helps your immune system fight off sickness but it also helps with inflammation during your work out if you have asthma and mucus production during workouts. So this is a little trick I use to help, since I can't find my asthma pump to save my life.

Additionally, Omega 3's help with joint protection for those of you former track jumpers and hurdlers, I know your knees took a hit from those days. Make sure to check the mg of the EPA/DHA on the back, mine has 950mg in the triple strength version. It is important to also get the purified fish oils because the lower quality cheaper ones have some toxins and pollutants in it from the fish. RESEARCH ladies, its important.

That is all my loves!!!
