Hey Naturalista's!!

My loves!

I recently got a nice new shipment of products I wanted to try out. I had a 'gift card' that was given to me as a gift, so I used that to purchase these various products. I ordered the smaller tub of KCCC (kinky curly curling custard), Shine and Define by Oyin Handmade, Blended Beauty Down and Out Styles tub, and finally Oyin Handmade Juices and Berries spritz. I sprayed the Juices and Berries just to see how it smelled and yeah, can we just say.... A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!

I also tried out the KCCC!! It is amazing! It gave me definition that I cant get even when my hair is all wet! I will do a review on it in the next few days for you ladies!!!

Essie Nail Polish: Mod Squad & Pansy

I purchased Essie's nail polish in the colors Mod Squad and Pansy. They are both pinks that look great with my skin tone. I painted my toes and nails with the Pansy color last week. It has lasted pretty long and I am satisfied with the life of the paint. I would definitely repurchase a color from Essie. They are pricey, but I managed to get them for free because I had a gift card.

If you are a woman of color with a caramel/ milk chocolate complexion, these colors will look fabulous on you, especially for spring!

When I get home today I will swatch the colors on my nails.

Paul Mitchell: The Conditioner Review

What it claims...
Balances Moisture – Moisturizing conditioners and Hawaiian Awapuhi help balance moisture and prevent dryness
Improves Texture – Wheat-derived conditioners smooth the surface and reduce static
Excellent for Hair and Skin – This unique water-based formula is excellent for both skin and hair.

What it actually does...
I used this leave in conditioner to do my twist out along with some other products [Frederic Fekkai Glossing Cream and Trader Joe's Aloe Vera Gel]. I just have to say that I LOVE this leave in conditioner. If you are looking to have soft hair that feels happy and has a slight natural healthy shine to it- this is for you.

When I was using the product I could feel exactly when there was enough in my hair, a very little bit goes a long way. for each twist I used about a 1/3 of a dime size. This stuff is great. Some people don't like it because of the cones and I'd have to say if you're CG (curly girl) or strictly no cones, then don't use this product.

Ingredients...
Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Ceteth 2, Cetrimonium Bromide, Bisamino PEG/PPG-41/3 Aminoethyl PG-Propyl Dimethicone, Dimethicone Bisamino Hydroxypropyl Copolyol/Algae/Aloe Barbadensis/Chamomile, Hedychium Coronarium Extract (White Ginger), PEG 12 Dimethicone, Algae (Seaweed) Extract, Aloe (Aloe Barbadensis) Leaf Extract, Anthemis Nobilis (Roman Chamomile) Flower Extract, Lawsonia Inermis Extract (Henna), Simmondsia Chinensis Extract (Jojoba), Rosmarinus Officinalis Extract/PEG 12 Dimethicone (Rosemary), Wheat Germ Amidopropyl Ethyldimonium Ethosulfate, Citric Acid, Blue 1 Lake (CI 42090) (CI 42090), DMDM Hydrantoin, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Fragrance (Parfum) (Parfum), Citronellol, Coumarin, Geraniol, Hexylcinnamal, Limonene

Results...
I actually thought my twist out was going to look horrible but it turned out quite cute and I have gotten second day hair out if it with absolutely NO manipulation not even a shower letting the steam get to it. I'm hoping to stretch 4 or more days out of it. Hopefully I'll have my Juices & Berries spray by Oyin in the mail by then so I can try it out on the style as a refresher.

Price...
The price I paid was $12.00 for a 10.14oz bottle. If you purchase it online, you can get it for cheaper at certain places. The 33oz is between $22.00 and $25.00. It is a little pricey compared to the more inexpensive leave in conditioners and such, but its about the same price as Giovanni's Leave in Conditioner which I don't like nearly as much as this one. I definitely think if I mixed the two together I'd love the combo.

Rating...
All in all I'd rate this product as a 8 on a scale of 10 and if I can get more days out of it, it'll be a 9.

So... this will become a staple product for me. I will use it on twists or braids, I am not sure if I will use it on wash and go's yet. Give it a try, purchase a sample size if you see one and try it out for cheap.

thanx you guys!

Carol's Daughter Loc Butter

Hey Ladies!!
I recently came across some Carol's Daughter (CD) Loc Butter. I actually got it to try with my twists hoping it would help them hold some and add some shine. I ended up doing a flat twist out on dry hair. It turned out okay. My ends then to straighten very easily with out me trying, so some spots just had a straight end to it , however it was fairly cute. My hair had oil in it that visibly came off onto my hands. I don't mind that because by the second day its absorbed but my hair still has a slight healthy sheen with no oil to the touch. It is soft and feels great. I like this product, I don't HAVE to have it, but I do like it, and since I didn't need much it will last me a long time.

I will do another twist or twist out on my hair when it is wet and let you all know the verdict on it.

Please let me know if any of you would like for me to try and review a product, or post on a particular topic!

Spring/Summer Natural Hair Finds...

So I am currently posting on the go. I have recently found that Trader Joe's has some great Organic Aloe Vera Gel. It does not have additives. It acts as a gel in defining curls, but it absorbs right into your hair. You hair will not be crunchy dry or even have a residue on it. It is simply the bomb! I will post pictures when I have a chance to. it is great for a wash and go in the warm weather with curl definition and also adding moisture to your coils. Aloe Vera also helps heal scars and wounds such as one that may be on your scalp. It heals from sunburns and protects, even for hair. It helps retain hair and keep from hair loss.

My second great summer/spring find is shealoe. That is a mixture of shea butter and aloe vera gel. The reason this mixture is great for the summer and spring is because shea butter acts as a sun protectant blocking UVB rays. As well, but being mixed with aloe vera gel, it has all the same benefits from that too.

One more find is braids. Yes sounds weird right?? Well getting parts of your head corn rowed or all of your had is great for the summer. It is easy to care for, leaves you with a 'do' that you don't have to do for a few days to a few weeks, as well as, giving your hair a rest and letting your scalp catch a nice cool breeze. They are great protective styles!

That's all for now lovely naturales!
